Val Gal

December 25, 2015 Concentrating on Organizing Since we are experiencing a downturn for the company in regards to profits it might be a good time to organize.  I am taking inspiration from the city. Since Montreal has less people coming in since business is quiet the city is taking advantage to do much needed repairs.  And so Art Fabian Company is going through major improvements in the filing system.  There will be the ongoing work online but also we have new files and the whole paper system is being redone. The company policy of depapering continues as it has been proceeding in the autumn quarterly. We are keeping only Art produced by Art Company itself.  All of the other Art Fabian Collections are going. It is with much regret we have had to get rid of some excellent work by other artists.  Luckily we have been scanning the work so we have an online record of the work.  We are in the process of finding out which system works best with regards to scanning. Superstitious?  What kind of rituals do you follow for good luck?  For myself, I like to take advantage of special times to see if I can reap good fortune.  For example, if I have something important to organize I am likely to do it on a Holiday or on Sunday. So planning this week's Studio work was a no brainer.  I had recently received a large amount of old jewelry from an estate. The choicer pieces had long gone and these were left.  They were supposed to be unsellable.  So I asked how they were organized. I said if you give almost them to me, I will organize them for you in the proper way.  But I was given them instead. The owner felt they were just cluttering up the house.  Luckily I have my jewelry collection. To get them they had to be quickly boxed and taken off the premises.  But once I brought them home, there was no time to organize them anymore because of the Holiday Preparations.  So this Saturday I took some time to clean the antique jewelery and to put them pro

Hello dear Readers, Coping with Holiday Frenzy What do you to pamper yourself when the Holiday frenzy starts ? I went for a long walk to pick up some containers for my external hard drives.  You see I am into organizing and I want to have all my files easily accessible by the time the Holiday season is over.  As luck would have it by the time I was half way back to the metro I felt really tired.  Luckily there was a good restaurant, Nickels right at the corner.  I did the unthinkable.  Instead of getting some nuts and a drink from the grocery store I regaled myself on a French onion soup before I hit the metro.  It tasted so good I didn't even think it was expensive.  At the holiday season I always get tired in transit so I put away a little extra cash for food. It makes it a lot nicer. Saturday Studio Work: Speaking of the Holidays I am doing a lot of celebrating.  This week the Rose Studio is open to Art Fabian Company Patrons and Friends.  It is Gift Atelier Giveaway

It didn't look like I would be able to do it on time.  But I got all the work hung for the Holiday Season Exhibit and the Holiday Season Ornaments all done as well.  To celebrate I thought I would lead my online friends like you on a tour of the Val Gal as it looks today. The film starts a little bit too dark but don't worry.  As you go down the corridor with me you will be able to see more clearly how Val Gal is decorated for this magical time. Whew! That's done.  And now I can get on with the rest of the preparations.  There is still a lot of work to be done with the Gift Atelier and the Art Fabian Company Bazaar for Patrons and Friends. Hello Dear Friends, The Holiday Season Approaches.  And there is much to do in Val Gal  Valuable Gallery). And despite having a little bit of trouble getting this video online (and the lightbulb glowing on the right ear) stuff is getting done. We have a Gift Atelier Bazaar for company friends and patrons.  We have a new Magic Space Exhibit specially for the Holidays.  And there has been an exciting discovery of some lost Kathy Fabian Artwork recently.  Lots of new drawings and paintings are coming in to Val Gal and have to be properly stored.
