Greeting winter on the Company Page

I also winterized the Facebook Art Fabian Company page at   https://www.facebook.com/TheArtFabianCompany/ .  Actually it's not specifically for winter. The jewel featured in the image is part of my personal collection and was acquired in a little sale put on by the Franciscans. I really liked the work but it focused on religious symbols. I am not into symbols at this time so we had it removed.  I have to admit, it looked better with the symbol but eventually, I hope to replace the little charm with one of my own choosing.

Welcoming winter on Facebook

I have winterized is my personal Facebook page incorporating a jewel from my collection. It's just for the Holiday season. (I don't know how I am ever going to keep up with all my pages and the right season and stuff!). However, I think it's pretty successful. If you enjoy it, please like the image or the page. A little modern classical

How about a little modern classical. Xmas I mean.

One great big present

As you see from the title of my Facebook event (facing the Holidays Solo at https://www.facebook.com/events/317495455431238 ), I am facing the holidays pretty solo. I have had some people drop by the Rose studio, my living working space. And now I am taking time to tidy up. I bought myself one great big present to put under the tree. It took a lot of courage and thought before I chose it. ANd there it stays on my holiday display waiting for Christmas morning to unwrap. And I have been raiding the thrift shops for holiday season stuff. It is at this time I find all sorts of great colors and fabrics that I can wear during the year. As an artist color, texture and pattern are very important to me. My funds are meagre so I have to get stuff from vintage sources because the stuff I like, if it was bought new, would, for the most part, be very expensive. thank goodness people don't like to throw out quality merchandise. (I don't). And thank god people like to celebrate with

Introducing the Fabian Studio Winter LIneup

It's not only the holiday season it's the beginning of winter as well. I am now in the process of updating my social networks site to make them appropriate for the season. I invite you to check out my site on Pinterest. There are a few posters for you to download and hang up in your living space to celebrate the season. They feature jewels from my collection. I use jewels as a symbol of ambition, hope and of course, affluence. Check it out. https://www.pinterest.ca/ArtFabianCo/the-ambition-jewelry-collection/

Christmas Music 24/7

Note: I don<t know if this video will be on 24/7 after the season but I will keep the article so you can get a general idea of the mood in the Rose Studio at this time. I listening to the CBC classical music station and the sound is really quite beautiful early in the morning. But later I will be going to Facebook and Youtube to find music. I prefer videos to playlists. Sometimes I like stories but sometimes I enjoy a roaring fire like the one I attached. It goes 24/7. which means I always have it greeting me when I return to my solitary room.

Music and the Lady Upstairs

I don't know what it is about Christmas but to me, one of the most important things about is the high quality of the music. Right now on the radio, you can find all kinds of soulful moving melodies. It's early in the morning in the residence and usually, I don't have the music on. And if I do I put on the headphones. But I have a rather unruly neighbour with a noise problem and I have been advised when she starts to bother me, put on the music. It's actually a funny feeling because until now I have been firmly told to stop making noise. However, my neighbour has had free rein for years. So picture this. It's in the middle of the night and it's black outside. All of a sudden the lady starts to do her take on wailing and I fumble for the clicker to turn on the radio. In the black of night strands of classic music surround me. And the lady's noise is not so important. Now I have had many people complaining about music and noise. So despite the

The influence of Children

As I look at the songs in the two posts before I realize that children have a lot to do with the theme. Yes, I was working with children a long time ago.  Let's tip a hat to those who deal with children both administrators and parents. It's not easy to keep yourself and kids alive and happy. (and yourself). I, however, am pretty child-free at this moment and prefer it that way. The reason this came to mind is that right away when you create an event they ask it its child-friendly. Hmm. Maybe not. I don"t know. Actually, its best to watch out since I don't know what is going to happen when I start to philosophize and go on my musical journey.

We don't need another hero

So I am pretty much alone and hitting the end of middle age. It's not the most idealist time. SO I am not much for sci-fi movies of this kind but the music hits the spot. It hit it when I heard it years ago and it still holds an important place in my heart. Here, listen to Tina Turner and We don't need another hero.

The greatest love of all.

Note: I am now in the process of a Facebook event and I thought that the best way I can refer back to it is to incorporate it into this blog.  Besides, some people might be interested to refer to it as well. (either as it is going or later. So for the next little while, I will be posting the articles, pretty the same way they are on the event on this blog. The Facebook event is called "Facing the Season Solo" and it will go on from now until the begiining of January.  You are welcome to join it at  https://www.facebook.com/events/317495455431238/?active_tab=discussion Good morning to all. I hope you are having a good one. It's really early here in Montreal. I have been preparing for the holiday season and just crashed out after supper last night. I woke up pretty early today and started this event.  This year, I am facing the holiday season pretty solo. No family. No close friends.  Yesterday I found myself pretty lost and then I thought, well there's Facebook. A

Letter to Pinterest: thank you for removing a pin with copyright issues.

2017-08-19 Dear Pinterest, Thank you very much for your discrete letter informing me about you removing a pin due to Copyright issues.  I would rather a pin with copyright issues be removed as quickly as possible so that I will not have to be subjected to the unpleasantness related to being sued for such issues.  Right now, I use only my own images to develop (I am an artist) as well as images free to use, modify and share commercial according to the Bing creative copyright filter.  I also use images under the public domain.  I did not know How to find out about copyright issues before I got to Bing filter so right now I have some images that I developed before in which I do not know how to check this problem out. They are actually in my archives. I must state, for the records, that sometimes I find all this research confusing and I get mixed up and might use the wrong image. Anyways, I am very grateful you removed the offending image  I lost a huge amount of money for this

The Before Poster Series

Before posters   The arts in a poor community   When I moved into the downtown sector the plateau Montreal was a very poor community   Although the community was very poor it was densely populated. There were a lot of dry goods establishments mixed with a fair amount of family tolerated prostitution. The police sergeant had taken it upon himself to clean up the area so there were a lot of sponsored artistic establishments Mostly beginning dressmakers. These were young designers that needed a lot of cheap space and fast and they were willing and able to physically fight for their career.  They had many ethnic grocery stores that promoted regional fruits and vegetables  four different kinds of cooking needs. You had Portuguese you had English you had Chinese etc. These culturally diverse grocery stores exist to this very day. You also had a lot of temporary space that could be rented very cheaply for performance. It is from these performances can I take inspiration for a current s

Excerpt from Subtitles on A Poor Artists Jewels Tape on Youtube

Update: I have been trying to put subtitles on my Youtube films.  they are filmed ad hoc and I do not always clearly.  I have some friends that will be putting in the subtitles for me (and hopefully translating some stuff into some other languages like French and Japanese).  But I have to add some captions myself to get the ball rolling.  Its hard to understand a personal way of speaking unless somebody does that.   I am not very good at it and the work is slow so I have been trying to fugure out ways to do the subtitles as fast as possible. You used to have a choice as to whether you want to put the subtitles on with timing or just as large transcript.  But the subtitles have already been started and there,s no place to  put the whole transcript in.  I sgarted just dictating into word to make one large transcript and had to stop because I didn't know how to place into the subtitles.  So here is some of the work I did. (I might just continue it for some stuff because I like

Returning the Art to their Place: Gallery renovations. Update May 15.

I did some dictation straight into the Iphone.  I don't have the audio transcript but please feel free to enjoy the text below. This is Kathy (K.F.) Fabian speaking to you from the residence. The Blue Corridor Gallery has been freshly painted and has been out of commission for 15 days now approximately. By request of the administration, I am starting to place the Blue Corridor exhibit. The exhibition pieces have been put in storage in several places in the residence. Bright and early this morning I started to place the pieces that were on the floor in the spots I would like the nail to be hung. I am having breakfast now and when the meal is finished I look forward to placing the rest of the works and they have been hidden in my locker. I have to go fishing for them now. The plan is to put a nail in the wall in each potential place for a work of art. I figure to get my art out early so that I could have my choice. I will be having a selection of places with good lighting varie

New Coat of paint Update June 1, 2017 Summer

LInk:  http://valuablegallery.blogspot.com/2017/06/update-june-1-2017-summer.html Big Changes with the Art Fabian Gallery.  Because a magnificent new yellow coat of paint has dramatically changed the Valuable Gallery a change of name has become appropriate.  Henceforth instead of calling the outer gallery the Blue Corridor Gallery we will be referring to it as the Sunny Gallery.  We started putting up our exhibits ad hoc. Since we are functioning solely we have had very little expertise as to how to choose images from the web so as not to hassle with copyright issues. It has taken a fair amount of time to find the filter application int the Bing.com site.  Finally, we have found a site that filters out problems with the copyright. If we choose our images within the public domain we are free to share, use commercially and modify these images. And the creative commons filter has a section in which the artist permits us to do all three. Pinterest has more images than just Bing but it

Thanks for the TV suggestions Emily and ArtMoi

Simon Schama's Power of Art - Topic Hi Emily, I am glad to hear from you and ArtMoi.  I am entering information much faster now with the Bulk uploader and thank you very much for the suggestion.  I also was very interested in the viewing material that you sent me.  I put Hi Emily, I am glad to hear from you and ArtMoi.  I am entering information much faster now with the Bulk uploader and thank you very much for the suggestion.   I also was very interested in the viewing material that you sent me.  I put  Simon Schama's Power of Art – Topic on my featured reading list on YouTube immediately. I create films and publish them on YouTube.  They mostly deal with issues concerning my life as an artist.  YouTube has a groovy little program that allows community input for the creation of subtitles and translations for my films.  (They still remain unedited).  I have someone who translates in Japanese who is interested in translating my films but he needs someone

A Welcome to ArtMoi and I update tem on the Studio Exchange

ArtMoi.me  < emily.glover@gosquared.email >  wrote: Hi Kathy! Real person here I just wanted to welcome you to ArtMoi and see how you are liking our new Studio Dashboard so far. If you have any questions about Studio or any of our other services feel free to message me anytime! -Emily - Emily Glover ArtMoi.me Here's my reply: Dear Emily, I am glad to hear from you. Thanks for ArtMoi your art inventory app.  I am working on adding my stuff to it but it takes a long time to load it.  (That's not a big deal). I will be using it more intensively soon.  One thing that is problematic is that I can only enter a few things at a time.  I like all the information that you can enter on the form but again it takes a long time for me to do it one by one. Adding to the time factor is that I am now in the process (only) of creating my reference numbers. I have a bigger machine that works faster in the library but I can't' get there at this moment.
