VG29 Introducing Inner City Spirits into the Winter Space

The Magic Space Holiday Exhibit is over and Val Gal starts the Winter Exhibit.

Val Gal is not just a simple gallery.  It is a gallery in a women's residence that emphasizes rest and inspiration. So all of the images are created to create a sense of calm and good feeling.

Last year the popular series of "Creative Muses" appeared on site. These magical muses start to appear in regular neighborhood scenes.  They are created from the positive energy a busy neighborhood gives out when work is being done.  When I introduced the Creative Muses I was banking on the tendency of the women in this residence to escape into the world of film, news, movies and fantasies.  I imagined that they would love to meet some of the creatures that populate the popular film for example. (Like a runway model for example).

This week the winter exhibition heralds in a new kind of spirit of industry.  These are "ghostly" apparitions that like  the muses before them, visit the small neighborhood of which I live in.  But these are not picture perfect in form at all.  they are actually semi-abstract mixes of people and landscapes.

The new series of "inner city spirits" leave more to the imagination of the viewer and lets her finish the vision in her own way.  They are semi-abstract and neither beautiful or ugly just fantastic. How you interpret their appearance is left to the imagination of the viewer.  In this way I hope to attract people who are not necessarily impressed with physical beauty and the trappings of movie women.  So these spirits are most ghostly, to attract the more esthetic of the viewers.

I invision the Corridor Studio of Val Gal as a pathway of good feeling. When a person goes down the hallway she feels a sense of inspiration and importance.  By using scenes from the neighborhood and introducing larger than life figures, the pictures give a person sense of her/his own importance. The images are beautiful and not over-stimulating. They are flattering, not critical.  The images of the Corridor Studio promote the idea of a residence as a place of peacefulness and calmness.  Zt the same time the images are important to promote the idea of each and every persons own worth.

Birthday Itinerary on the LIke-a-thon

And what am I going to do today? I am glad you asked. First thing I am going to have breakfast at the wonderfully designed new restaurant down the street. I dare not tell you the name because I want to have a place. If I told you well then you might be one of the multitude of fans that take the tables instead of me. So, in to the shower and then I am off to the races. (did you join my event) What? Not yet? Well now's the time.

Bieber; Under the Mistletoe

Well the laundry's done. I have two pairs of kicky pajama bottoms waiting to be worn now. We are talking pink leopard and monkeys on a purple background. The dishwasher is out for a couple of days now and we have been eating on paper plates so I am going to look for a nice place to have my lunch today. I have a selection of three restos in mine: French, Brazilian and a coffee with a winning menu.  After that, I am going to go pick up a couple of pastries for tonight and f or Christmas morning. Talking about the French resto, they have some beautiful, decorative pastries. I only hope they are open. Meanwhile, this being the 24th I am going to go back to bed for a bit before I get dressed to search our sustenance.  Meanwhile, why not pick up some Christmas images from Bieber. By the way, what does shawty mean? He says that a lot in the song.

VG30 New Collage? Just one thing before I start....

It all started when I wanted to change my small square image for the Winter Exhibition.  the task was supposed to take five minutes.  I would make a fresh collage.  Everything was prepared.  And just scoot the thing in.  All done. Unfortunately it did not turn out that way. First of all there was a Holiday Season decoration still installed on the picture.  So that had to come off.  And if I was going to take it off I had to film it.  This work was in the Rose Studio and the ornament was not just any ornament, it was chandelier inspired with real chandelier crystal integrated into it.  So I had to take a picture of it. And if I had to take a picture of it then I had to install the proper set up to that the light and shadows worked.  And if I took the trouble to do that then maybe I should film All the other ornaments from the Holidays.  And before I did that, I had to finish some with some new crystals that I had gotten. And w...
