vg1. Introducing Val Gal by Kathy Fabian

September 9, 2015

In the romantic novels the artist goes way up to his tiny attic on the very top of his house to create and be free.  Sometimes it has a great view of Paris.  Or sometimes the person is a writer who creates great novels and ideas. They both seal themselves from the rest of the world to do great things.  Well why not imitate?

I live in a woman's residence in a very small room. When I first arrived I imagined it as a womb.  A creative womb in which I would heal and rest and create great art.  I would sit on the bed cross yoga position with hands on my legs and look out the window and the blue sky. I would imagine I meditated.   I would imagine I was one with the blue sky.

Well years have gone by and I no longer think of the room as a womb.  It became a small and impoverished cell for a while and then my imagination took over again.  I thought of it much like that attic.

So now it is my studio in which I develop and frame the photographs that I create.  I have thirteen spaces in this living space and thirteen spaces in the hallway to hang my work.  The little cell has transformed itself into the Rose Studio, my living working space.  And outside I have the Corridor Gallery.  And together all this forms the Valuable Gallery.

I have a company now that is registered at the City Hall. It is called Art Fabian Co. and it is an Art Studio and Marketing Firm.  Art Fabian Co. creates collections for millionaires and their admirers. On the first day of each new season, a new exhibit starts.

And voila, I break the shackles of grim reality and enter into a world of hope and creation.  And a new era begins in my life.  I now have a mission.  My mission is to gain physical and financial security (and wealth).  I invite you, dear reader, to enter into the world of Val Gal (the Valuable Gallery). I encourage you to send me your thoughts and ideas as to how I, a woman of fifty plus can accomplish my goal.  Send your ideas to kfabian.kathynotes@gmail.com.  Lets see, if together, we can fly.

Bieber; Under the Mistletoe

Well the laundry's done. I have two pairs of kicky pajama bottoms waiting to be worn now. We are talking pink leopard and monkeys on a purple background. The dishwasher is out for a couple of days now and we have been eating on paper plates so I am going to look for a nice place to have my lunch today. I have a selection of three restos in mine: French, Brazilian and a coffee with a winning menu.  After that, I am going to go pick up a couple of pastries for tonight and f or Christmas morning. Talking about the French resto, they have some beautiful, decorative pastries. I only hope they are open. Meanwhile, this being the 24th I am going to go back to bed for a bit before I get dressed to search our sustenance.  Meanwhile, why not pick up some Christmas images from Bieber. By the way, what does shawty mean? He says that a lot in the song.

The Before Poster Series

Before posters   The arts in a poor community   When I moved into the downtown sector the plateau Montreal was a very poor community   Although the community was very poor it was densely populated. There were a lot of dry goods establishments mixed with a fair amount of family tolerated prostitution. The police sergeant had taken it upon himself to clean up the area so there were a lot of sponsored artistic establishments Mostly beginning dressmakers. These were young designers that needed a lot of cheap space and fast and they were willing and able to physically fight for their career.  They had many ethnic grocery stores that promoted regional fruits and vegetables  four different kinds of cooking needs. You had Portuguese you had English you had Chinese etc. These culturally diverse grocery stores exist to this very day. You also had a lot of temporary space that could be rented very cheaply for performance. It is from these performances can I tak...

Birthday Itinerary on the LIke-a-thon

And what am I going to do today? I am glad you asked. First thing I am going to have breakfast at the wonderfully designed new restaurant down the street. I dare not tell you the name because I want to have a place. If I told you well then you might be one of the multitude of fans that take the tables instead of me. So, in to the shower and then I am off to the races. (did you join my event) What? Not yet? Well now's the time.
